For any students in the Bay Area interested in dentistry:
Student National Dental Association (SNDA) is collaborating with my organization ADEA, as well as, Hispanic Dental Student Association (HSDA) for the Impressions Conference on May 4th, 2013. Impressions is an event held by dental students for the pre-dental students (preferably those in college/university institutions already) at the UCSF campus. It is meant to bring exposure into the field of dentistry for those possibly interested and to provide information about applying to dental school. Participants will be given the opportunity to listen to guest speakers, tour UCSF School of Dentistry, participate in hands-on dental demonstrations/workshops, learn about the admissions process/how to become a competitive candidate, how to prepare for the Dental Admission Test (DAT) and to interact with UCSF dental students, residents, faculty and alumni!
I will be organizing the hands on dental demos that day. We will have stations in our simulation lab where you will be grouped with dental students to experience drilling teeth, doing composite fillings, taking alginate impressions, etc. It will be fun!!
I volunteered last year and thought the event was useful because at the end of the day you hear different types of dental students speaking about their experiences as a pre-dent/dental student. And afterwards you have the choice to stay (as opposed to peace-ing out ) and be paired up with a dental student where you guys can engage in a mock interview and/or go over your personal statement. So bring your PS if you're planning to apply this coming cycle & have already written up a draft. :)

**Allow 3-5 days for your registration to be processed. Once processed, if you were to be invited, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions on paying a non-refundable registration fee of $18.00 (processed through EventBrite).
