Oysters oysters!! So my sister, Ant, and I took a trip to SD the first Saturday I came back home for SD's Oyster Fest. We made a pit stop at Hodad's. I got to try Hodad's for the first time...pretty fine and juicy! Then we headed to the oyster fest where there were singers, bands, DJs, booze, BBQ, oysters, lobster sandwiches (we didn't get to try thissss :( :( :( ), cute dogs, and a number of too tan and crisp people. Performers shown above are Tyrone Wells and Mayor Hawthorne. The kumamoto and BBQ oysters were my favorite. We had a bbq parfait which had alternating layers of mashed potatoes, gravy, and pulled pork. I tried oyster shots, but I couldn't down it. Later that night we went to Tacos el Gordo de Tijuana. MMM I had adobada and lengua tacos--muy deliciosos! Then we headed to Phil's BBQ and waited in a long long line. The red velvet whoopie pie was good. The bbq was alright, too much sauce and too tart for me if I remember correctly. Maybe people hyped it up too much so I had really high expectations that it couldn't come close to meeting. _oli
